This article is not an opinion but a mere compilation of happenings in the case and police investigation findings.

In November 2017, Sonam Mahajan accused Abhinav Khare, current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asianet News of sexually harassing her.

Sonam Mahajan was under the payroll of NBF although she had joined Chandrasekhar’s political office.

Rajeev Chandrashekar is also the former board member of ARG Outlier Asianet News, whose current CEO is Abhinav Khare.

In November, 2017, she filed a case accusing Khare of ‘borderline mental and sexual harassment.

In June 2018, Mahajan’s accusations against Khare were termed to be true by an ad-hoc committee. Khare was asked to render an unconditional apology.

On 24 April this year, the city police investigation revealed that the accusations were false. The police also spoke to 15 employees of NBF none of which agreed with Sonam Mahajan’s claim. “In fact, many of them alleged she behaved inappropriately. Some said her performance was not satisfactory and the complaint was vendetta,”

City police have closed the case saying that the allegations made against Khare were “baseless and false”.

The police have filed B report, saying that a charge sheet can’t be filed against Abhinav Khare as there is no evidence against him.

Police Findings. B-Report

1. As the complainant Sonam Mahajan has not cooperated in any way for the investigation, the case is a false case and this case is not fit for further investigation.

2. All the witnesses who were inquired during the investigation have made the statement against the complainant.

3. It is found with the witnesses’ statements that the complainant herself behaved indecently with the accused.

4. It is found with the witnesses statement that the complainant herself has compelled and pulled the hands of the accused and tried to drag the accused to take him to the pub for the party.

As the accused is Chief of staff of the office where complainant was working the complainant has put pressure on the accused to continue the contract or pay Rs.15 Lakh as one year salary. It has come to the notice that as the accused has refused to this the complainant has filed a false complaint and the complaint made by the complainant is false.
